Translation

अनुवाद

English

Some look on the soul as amazing, some describe him as amazing, and some hear of him as amazing, while others, even after hearing about him, cannot understand him at all.

Deep Reflection

गहन चिंतन

The Wonder of the Self.

After explaining the logic, Krishna admits: "This is hard." He uses the word Ascharya-vat (Like a wonder/miracle) three times.

1. Seeing it is a wonder. 2. Speaking of it is a wonder. 3. Hearing of it is a wonder.

And even after all that... most people still don't get it. This is the "Secret Club" of the Aware.

Why is it "Ascharya" (Wonder)?

Because it contradicts our entire lived experience.

We feel like bodies. We feel pain. We feel mortality. To realize "I am Deathless" while living in a dying body is a cognitive miracle.

It is like a wave realizing "I am the Ocean" while crashing onto the shore. It shouldn't be possible, but it is.

The Rarity of Perception

"Kashchit" (Someone). Very rare.

Billions of people live and die without ever asking "Who am I?" They are busy with paying bills, seeking pleasure, and avoiding pain.

To stop the rat race, turn around, and look inward is a revolutionary act. It is a rebellion against the sleep of the world.

Heard but not Known

"Shrutvapy enam veda na..." (Having heard, they still don't know).

You can memorize the Gita. You can chant this verse perfectly. But do you KNOW it?

Intellectual understanding is not Realization. You can know the chemical formula of water (H2O) and still die of thirst. You have to DRINK it.

The Rarity of Listeners

It is hard to find a teacher ("Vadathi" - one who speaks from experience). It is even harder to find a student who truly LISTENS ("Shrnoti").

Most "listening" is just waiting for your turn to speak. Or listening to confirm what you already believe. To listen with total openness, dropping all prejudices, is a "Wonder."

The Great Secret

Why is this kept secret? It isn't. The sun is not a secret, but a blind man cannot see it.

The "Secret" of the Self guards itself. It is hidden in plain sight. Only the one who has cleaned the mirror of the mind can see the reflection. Everyone else just sees dust.

What This Means for You

व्यावहारिक ज्ञान

Don't feel bad if you don't "get it" yet. Krishna admits it is hard. It takes time. Intelligence alone isn't enough; you need grace and practice.

Cultivate Wonder. Approach spirituality not as a subject to be studied, but as a mystery to be awed by.

Listen deeply. When you read wisdom, don't just skim. Stop. Breathe. Let the words land in your silence.

Live With It

इस श्लोक को जिएं

The Unclaimed Jackpot.

You are stressing out because you lost a $20 bill. You are tearing apart your house, angry, sweating, blaming yourself. "I am so broke! I am so careless!"

Meanwhile, in your junk drawer, buried under old batteries, is a lottery ticket you bought last month. It is worth $50 Million. And you forgot about it.

You are crying over $20 while sitting on a fortune.

This is your life.

You are crying over "Respect" or "Success" or "Aging" (The $20).

Krishna is shaking you: "Hey! Check the drawer!"

You have the Infinite Soul inside you. You are literally the source of all value. But you have spiritual amnesia.

Stop crying over the lost $20. Remember who you are. Walk through the world with the quiet confidence of a Billionaire who just hasn't cashed the check yet.

A Question to Sit With

चिंतन के लिए प्रश्न

"When was the last time you felt true awe at the fact that you exist?"
