O descendant of Bharata, he who dwells in the body can never be slain. Therefore you need not grieve for any living being.

हे अर्जुन! यह आत्मा सबके शरीरों में सदा ही अवध्य है। इस कारण संपूर्ण प्राणियों के लिए तू शोक करने योग्य नहीं है।

The Closing Argument.
This verse marks the end of the "Sankhya Yoga" section (The Logic of the Soul) which started in Verse 11.
Krishna summarizes everything into one master rule: Dehi Nityam Avadhyo'yam: The Dweller in the body is eternally unkillable.
He applies this not just to Bhishma, but Sarvasya (Everyone). This is the Grand Unification Theory of the Gita.
The Universal Application
Krishna says "Dehe sarvasya" (In the body of everyone).
This is crucial. The Soul is not just in saints or kings. It is in the ant, the elephant, the enemy, and the friend.
It is the same Indestructible Spark in every container.
This is the foundation of Universal Love. You respect the Spark, even if you fight the container (as Arjuna must).
From Metaphysics to Ethics
Verse 11 started with "You are grieving for those who should not be grieved for." Verse 30 ends with "Therefore, you should not grieve for any living being."
The circle is complete. The Logic (Sankhya) is done. The conclusion is: Total Elimination of Grief.
Preparation for Action
Now that the "Why" (Metaphysics) is handled, Krishna is about to switch to "How" (Dharma/Duty) in the next verses.
He needed to ground Arjuna in the Absolute truth first. You cannot act powerfully in the Relative world if you don't have a foothold in the Absolute. If you don't know you are Eternal, you will be too scared to act.
The Universal Shield
This knowledge is a shield. "Avadhyo'yam" - I cannot be killed.
When you walk into a meeting, a conflict, or a danger zone with this thought, your body language changes. Fear leaves the room. You become dangerous to your enemies because you have nothing to lose.
The End of Lamentation
Krishna closes the door on pity.
He is saying: "Arjuna, we are done discussing whether they will die. They won't (in Spirit). They will (in Body). Both are facts. Now, pick up your bow."
Spiritual knowledge is not for sitting in a cave; it is for standing up in a war.
What This Means for You
व्यावहारिक ज्ञान
See the Dweller. Look at people today. Don't see the "Deha" (Body/Personality). See the "Dehi" (The Dweller). It changes how you treat them.
End the Pity Party. Pity is often disguised ego. "poor them." Krishna says: No "poor them." They are Eternal Souls. Respect them, don't pity them.
You are Safe. Use this verse as a mantra when you feel threatened. "I am Avadhya."
Live With It

The Stuntman.
You see the hero jump through a window, crash onto a table, and roll through a fire. It looks brutal.
But the Stuntman is calm. Why? Because he is wearing fireproof gel. He has pads under his suit. He knows how to fall.
He takes the hit, but he doesn't take the damage.
The world will throw you through windows. People will yell. Plans will fail. Rejections will hit.
If you think you are the "Body," you will break. If you know you are the "Dehi" (Soul), you know you are padded.
"This insult hits my Ego—but I am safe." "This loss hits my Bank Account—but I am safe."
Walk through the fire. Smile at the camera. You are Indestructible.
