About Bhagavad Gita Chapter 16 - Daivasura Sampad Vibhaga Yoga

Bhagavad Gita Chapter 16 - Daivasura Sampad Vibhaga Yoga के बारे में

Daivasura Sampad Vibhaga Yoga is a treatise on ethics. Krishna explicitly lists the 26 qualities of a divine nature (fearlessness, charity, self-control, non-violence, etc.) and the qualities of a demonic nature (arrogance, pride, anger, harshness, ignorance).

He describes the mindset of materialistic/demonic people who believe the world has no foundation or God, and is produced only of sex desire. They live only to gratify their senses, accumulating wealth by any means.

He identifies the three gates to hell: Lust, Anger, and Greed. The chapter concludes by advising Arjuna to follow the scriptures (Shastras) as the guide for conduct.

Choice of Character

चरित्र का चुनाव

We can choose to cultivate divine virtues which liberate us, or demonic vices which bind us.

Three Gates of Hell

नरक के तीन द्वार

Lust (Kama), Anger (Krodha), and Greed (Lobha) are the destroyers of the self. One must abandon these three.

Life Lessons for You

जीवन की सीख

  • Check Your Ego

Pride, arrogance, and anger are signs of a "demonic" nature that leads to misery. Practice humility and patience. When you feel anger rising, recognize it as a "gate to self-destruction" and step back.

  • Living Ethically

In a world that often rewards ruthlessness, this chapter reminds us that true prosperity (Sampad) is virtuous character. Honesty, non-violence, and truthfulness bring a peace that money cannot buy.
