English
One who has taken his birth is sure to die, and after death one is sure to take birth again. Therefore, in the unavoidable discharge of your duty, you should not lament.

क्योंकि जो जन्मा है उसकी मृत्यु निश्चित है और जो मरा है उसका जन्म निश्चित है। इससे इस बिना उपाय वाले (अनिवार्य) विषय में तू शोक करने योग्य नहीं है।
Deep Reflection
गहन चिंतन
The Hard Truth.
Krishna lays down the law of gravity for existence. Dhruvo Mrityuh: Death is certain.
This is not pessimism. It is realism. Fighting certainty is the definition of insanity. It's like trying to argue with the sun for setting. But Krishna adds a twist: Birth is also certain.
The Cycle of Dhruva (Certainty)
Birth -> Death -> Birth. It is a revolving door.
If you get on a Ferris wheel, you cannot scream when it goes down. That is how the wheel works.
"Dhruvam" means "Fixed" or "Pole Star." It is the most solid fact of existence. The moment you were born, the clock started ticking toward death. The moment you die, the clock starts ticking toward birth.
Apariharye (Unavoidable)
Krishna calls death "Apariharye"—That which cannot be avoided.
We spend billions on anti-aging, medicine, and safety to Avoid it. This creates anxiety.
Krishna suggests a different approach: Accept it.
Once you accept the unavoidable, the fear disappears, and you can focus on how you live in the meantime. Worrying about death is like worrying that the movie will end. It will. Enjoy the movie.
The Rebirth Guarantee
"Dhruvam janma mritasya ca"—And birth is certain for the dead.
This is the second half of the cycle. Death isn't a cliff; it's a bridge.
Just as waking follows sleep, birth needs to follow death to exhaust the Karma. This gives hope: The story isn't over. You are not deleting the file; you are just saving and opening a new document.
Duty in the Face of Death
Since death is guaranteed, the only variable is your Action (Karma). "Tasmad" (Therefore)... Do not grieve. Act.
If the soldier dies, he dies. If he doesn't, he fights. But Paralyzed Grief has no place in a world of certainties.
You don't cry because the sun sets. You light a lamp.
Liberation from "What Ifs"
We lose so much energy on "What if he dies?" "What if I fail?"
Krishna deletes the "What if." He says: "It WILL happen (in some form)."
Now that the worst-case scenario is accepted as fact, you are free to be brave. The man who has accepted death is the most dangerous opponent.
What This Means for You
व्यावहारिक ज्ञान
Accept the End. Every project ends. Every vacation ends. Every life ends. Making peace with "The End" allows you to enjoy "The Middle."
Stop postponing. Since time is limited and death is certain, do the important things NOW.
It's a Cycle, not a Line. Failure isn't the end. It's just the death of one attempt and the birth of the next.
Live With It

The Rollercoaster.
You strap into the seat. The bar locks down with a loud Click. The ride starts climbing. Clack. Clack. Clack.
You know the Drop is coming. It is "Dhruva" (Certain).
You have two choices: 1. Scream "Stop! Let me off! I changed my mind!" (Panic/Grief). 2. Take a deep breath, grip the bar, and say "Here we go." (Acceptance).
Once you are born, the bar is locked. The Drop is "Apariharye" (Unavoidable). Screaming at the laws of physics won't stop the ride. It just ruins the view.
Don't waste the climb worrying about the drop. Look at the horizon. Feel the wind. And when the drop comes, throw your hands up. The ride continues on the other side.

"What ending are you resisting that is actually inevitable?"
