Therefore, O mighty-armed, one whose senses are restrained from their objects is certainly of steady intelligence.
हिंदी
इसलिये हे महाबाहो! जिस पुरुष की इन्द्रियां अपने-अपने विषयों से सब प्रकार से हटी हुई हैं, उसी की बुद्धि स्थिर है।
Deep Reflection
गहन चिंतन
The Seal of Approval.
Krishna concludes the "Senses" argument here using the word "Tasmad" (Therefore). It is the summary judgment. After showing the danger (Verse 67) and the ladder of fall (Verse 62-63), He gives the final verdict.
Who is the Master? "Nigrihitani Sarvashah" = One whose senses are withheld from objects completely.
Sarvashah (From All Sides)
He re-emphasizes "All Sides." You can't be a vegetarian who is addicted to gambling. You can't be a celibate who is addicted to fame.
The bucket must be sealed completely. Even a pinhole leak drains the water eventually.
Maha-Baho (Mighty Armed)
He addresses Arjuna as "Mighty Armed" again. Why? Because this internal battle requires more strength than lifting a heavy bow.
It takes muscle to fight Bhishma. It takes SUPER-muscle to fight your own Mind. Krishna is reminding Arjuna: "You are strong enough for this."
Nigrihitani (Withheld/Curbed)
It implies a deliberate action. The senses naturally run outward. You have to pull them back.
It is an active, dynamic state. Stability (Prajna Pratishthita) is not a passive rock. It is a spinning gyroscope—stable because of intense, balanced motion.
The Indriya-Artha Disconnect
The Plug (Indriya) wants the Socket (Artha). The Yogi pulls the plug.
When the connection is broken, the current of Desire stops flowing. The mind cools down.
Not Just "Blocking"
Remember Verse 59. You don't just block the object; you lose the taste for it. This verse describes the behavior of the Sage, but the inner state is one of disinterest, not struggle.
What This Means for You
व्यावहारिक ज्ञान
Audit your leaks. Check every door of your house (mind). Is the back door (Ego) open while you are guarding the front door (Lust)?
Use your Strength. Stop acting like a victim of your habits. You are "Maha-Baho." You have the power to say No.
Celebrate the disconnect. Every time you say No to a distraction, visualize your "Prajna" (Wisdom) getting thicker and stronger.

The High-Voltage Electrician (The Insulation).
The Danger Zone: You are Lineman Suresh. You are suspended 30 feet in the air, fixing a main transmission tower. The hum of the transformer is loud—a constant, menacing buzz. You are dealing with a live 11,000 Volt line. This isn't like fixing a toaster. ONE touch means instant death. Not injury. Ash.
The Prep (Sadhana): You put on your thick, heavy rubber gloves. You wear regulation rubber boots. You use insulated tools. You are "Nigrihitani Sarvashah" (Protected from all sides). As long as the insulation is perfect, the power flows past you, not through you.
The Temptation: It is May. 45 degrees Celsius. The gloves are heavy, clumsy, and suffocating. Your hands are sweating rivers inside them. Your grip is slipping on the wrench. You have to tighten a small, tricky screw. It would be so much easier with bare fingers. Your mind whispers: "Just take off one glove. Just for a minute. I'll be careful. I won't touch the wire."
The Reality Check: Electricity doesn't care if you are "careful." It doesn't care if you are a "good person" or if you have kids. It only cares about one thing: Are you Insulated? If there is one tiny hole in your glove, or if you expose one inch of skin, the circuit completes. ZAP. Game Over.
Spiritual High Voltage: The energy of the Material World (Maya) is 11,000 Volts. It is beautiful, but lethal to your peace. Your "Sadhana" (Rules/Discipline) is the Rubber Glove. Don't negotiate with the Voltage. Don't say: "I will touch the world a little bit without protection." Don't say: "I'll just watch one bad video." Keep the gloves on. That is the only way to handle the power safely.
A Question to Sit With
चिंतन के लिए प्रश्न
"Where are you "strong" (disciplined) and where are you "weak" (leaking)?"
